Guess “USPTO”:http://uspto.gov/ has _some_ common sense as they have just “reaffirmed that the 1-Click Claim is ‘Old And Obvious’":http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/12/25/1933206. They should just abandon software patents altogether, as they are “bad”:http://www.nosoftwarepatents.com/en/m/intro/index.html - which is old news, and equally obvious.
Since Amazon isn’t givingup its ludicrous software patent I have decided to boycott them! As of today I have removed all links to Amazon! The reason for the boycott is because Amazon has filed filed suit against Barnes & Noble over this ludicrous patent. These kind of patents threatens to put a halt on technological innovation and ruin the Internet for all of us. The technology that Amazon has patented, is their ‘one-click ordering’ system 1) which is a simple system based on cookies! To patent this would be like patenting ’the process of taking a credit card order over the phone. Stop typing Amazon
