Firebug 1.0 released!

One of my favorite tools just went one point oh! - An oh what an upgrade! Firebug went from totally cool, to insanely great - if you haven’t upgaded already then hurry up, if you haven’t installed it, the do it - you won’t regret it! It has even obsoleted a couple of other plugins as you can now do inline editing of CSS and lots of other cool stuff! For users of lesser browsers, there is even a lite version so they can develop with Firebug and use all the cool features on their development site that we can use on any site! Oh… did it forget to mention it is free ?

Firefox and lori

For a long time I have been using lori - Life of request info with much joy. - Then came Firefox 2.0 … Nice browser, but lori stopped working… :-( Today I really needed it, so I unpacked it and changed the max version from 1.5 to 2.0, and now it works again :-) You can download it here, but I can’t guaranty it won’t blow up you your computer, but it works for me.

Happy birthday Simon

Today one of my best friends turns 30, unfortunately he is no longer with us… A few days before he drowned, his 12" PowerBook died. Just as unexpected. And a few days later Apple abandoned the PowerPC in favor of Intel. Strange days… I wish you could have seen it, I wish we could have debated it.. Laughed at the irony of it… I wish for a lot of things…

September 11. - What a glorious day

I know what you must be thinking: “How can you say a thing like that?”, but please forget about the terrorists for a moment and let me enlighten you… On this September 11. I became a father to Sebastian, the cutes little boy. September 10. started out as any given sunday, we were relaxing at home after a busy week. Around 17:00 my girlfriend started having contractions, and about 19:30 we left for the hospital - it was all very zen like, no stress, no worries. As the contractions grew in strength, our unborn sons heartrate dropped dangerously low for each contraction, and at 00:05 all hell broke loose… Doctors and nurses came running from all coners of the maternatity ward

Sodastream nostalgia

This week my future wife went on maternity leave, and on her last day on $work, her co-workers gave her a little present. This present brought back all kinds of cool memories from way back. Way back when the handle on the Sodastream machine was orange, terrorism didn’t exist and the Soviet union wanted to nuke us. The “Cola” still has that very special syntetic taste that we love to hate, and there is still something cool and refreshing about carbonating your own beverages.

Intelligent life...

It would seem that there really is some intelligent life somewhere… If you are serious about web development, you too would use this browser. The reason? - Firefox has a super cool extention system for which some must have/can’t live without extentions exist. The most notable being these two:

Tired of editing textareas ?

Fear not the solution is near! Download the Mozex extention, it will enable you to edit textareas in your favorite editor. Here is how to do it: On my mac the preference window for this extention is “abit broken” but still usable. Go to the second tab and enter the following in “Text Editor” [cc lang=“bash”]/Applications/TextMate.app/Contents/Resources/mate -w %t[/cc] Assign a cool hotkey (I use meta e) and you are done :-)

Complaints...

People have been complaining about the update frequency of this site, and at the same time some of the same people suggested that I write about all the little apps and tools I find and use on my Mac. 1 So I think I’ll try do do that :-)

I'm getting maried!

The strangest things happen, and sometimes the most wonderfull things happen… On the 30th of May - the date of our anniversary - I had prepared a very special day for my future wife and her son. First we went by horse carriage to Eremitage sletten, for a picnic and afterwards we went to Tivoli in the heart of Copenhagen. What she didn’t know, was that that I had a secret plan… We went in, bought a Multi-ride ticket and went casually over to the The Ferris Wheel. As the Farris wheel were loaded, our gondola came closer and closer to the top - pausing each time the next pair of passengers entered their gondola. As the sun was setting, our gondola finally paused at the top after what seemed like an eternity and I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me … She said Yes! =) What a wonderfull day…
